Art Teacher Community

Connection, knowledge, solutions

Welcome, friend!

As artists, we crave connection, having a community of artists with whom we can communicate, collaborate, create, and have deep conversations about ideas, processes, and the important role of art and artists in society.

The truth is being an artist can be a solitary pursuit alone in your studio working through ideas, exploring new techniques, and experimenting with your medium as you create your work.

We create space for something more.

Additionally, most people in our lives don’t share our passion or may like art but aren’t interested in engaging with it at the level we want to, which can be isolating.

So in the Art Teacher Community, we create space for solutions, community, collaboration, and conversations that dive deep into what matters most to you.

We are artists who are passionate about:

Inspiring the next generation of artists
Guiding our students to discover their artistic voice
Students learning to express themselves with the language of art
The transformative power creating has on our well-being
Proving that it is financially feasible to be an artist and art instructor

Blending strategy and support,

this community is designed to help you teach with intention as you build the right teaching business for your desired lifestyle and goals.

Take the stress out of managing your teaching business.

Get a clear plan on what to do next with our quarterly themes, monthly focus topics, and weekly action items. All with the support of new friends–artists who share your enthusiasm for art and teaching.

Put the fun into teaching and make it profitable

with twice-monthly group coaching calls where laughter flows freely, cheering is encouraged and you get strategies to move you forward.

The Art Teacher community is for you if you:

What is the secret of successful artists throughout history…
The key is having a dynamic artist community.
This is especially true
if you teach.

The Art Teacher Community combines a passionate, creative community of artists with group coaching and a structured plan to ensure you are building a solid foundation for your teaching business.

Together, we leverage our skills and knowledge by sharing resources, information, and opportunities, answering questions, and cheering each other on so we all grow creatively while building our businesses.

Ultimately, we harness the power of our networks to support each other in reaching our goals.

We are here to help you along your teaching journey, whether you are just getting started, looking to build a class, or needing to ensure that you have a solid foundation for your teaching business.

We believe that growth takes 3 months. We break down the year into 4 quarters and ask that you commit to at least 3-months so you complete one theme and the monthly focus tasks.

It usually takes 2- 4 hours a week, depending on how quickly you can move through tasks. We have twice-monthly calls on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month for 60 minutes and challenge activities that you can do at your own pace.

The quarterly themes are designed to include business and pedagogical issues. Within ATC, you also have access to our resource library. Let us know what you need, and we will add those resources to the library during our regular updates. Ask questions or find out where to start by leaving a post in Join The Conversation. This is also where you can share your celebrations, wins, and struggles. If you are stuck, let us know by leaving a post in Join The Conversation.

This is a dynamic group that is responsive to your needs, interests, and input. We want community members’ suggestions on what topics you want us to focus on. Here are some of the topics we will cover: content marketing, listing building, social media marketing, video creation, course creation, getting testimonials, surveying your students, market research, how to know what to teach next, how to structure your class for maximum learning and engagement, and more.

This is a community built and shaped by teaching artists like you. Together we create a community that helps us achieve our audacious dreams.

Get to know Jen

For the past three years, I have been creating a new body of work focusing on the challenges of living at the intersection of multiple identities, never fully located in any one space or community.

In these works, I explore the idea of liminal beings, creatures that move between or live in between worlds.

My work explores how it feels to be betwixt and between worlds.

As an artist, I understand how important it is to structure your art business so you have time in your studio. My studio time is sacred, and I want that for you too. You don’t need to sacrifice studio time to create a sustainable and profitable art career.

Let me help you structure your art business so you have time for what matters most to you!

As an art historian and curator, I appreciate the importance of writing speaking more powerfully about your work. How you discuss your work makes a difference in getting gallery representation, receiving grants and artist residencies, and exhibitions in museums.

I am committed to helping you successfully navigate the complexities of the art world so that you can reach your art career goals.

I’d love to work with you and help you create the art career of your dreams.
